Judith Underwood bio

For as long as I can remember, I have always felt like there was something meaningful that I was meant to accomplish in my life. My interpretation of this was that it was going to be something entrepreneurial, like a business of my own. As a result I attempted a number of different businesses, all of which eventually ended for one reason or another. This was very discouraging, and I was left feeling like a failure. One very interesting observation I made however was that even the successful ones never really gave me the feeling of accomplishment or fulfillment I expected. The only thing I did get from them was the understanding that I loved helping people and making them feel good. That was always my biggest drive in anything I undertook.

To really understand me, and the journey I have taken, I think it is important to give you a little background into my life.

I wasn't raised with any Christian or spiritual teachings. All I knew was that I was "an Anglican" under the "Church of England". Like the rest of my family this meant nothing to me and was only a title we carried down the family tree. When I reflect back on my life however, I see very clearly that I did have faith and truly did believe in God. I just didn't have all the pieces of the puzzle to put it all together. It wasn't until I met a Christian (my husband) that I was able to learn and understand the Gospels and to commit my life to Christ, making Him my Lord and Saviour.

The interesting part of my history is that I have many memories and testimonies of how God helped me during some of my weakest and most life threatening moments. I will never forget those times and the impact that they made on my life.

God has written that we are all put onto this earth for a purpose and that purpose is to bring glory to Him. It is our responsibility to follow the path that He has set out for each one of us. We have to pray, listen and surrender ourselves to Him in order to follow it properly as He had wanted it. As Christians we know that we are given spiritual gifts. These gifts are what we need to accomplish those purposes. How God leads us to what it is that He wants us to do is by the challenges and the people He brings into our lives.

All of my life people have crossed my path who had been hurt and traumatized physically and emotionally by situations during their younger lives. Their stories touched me greatly and as a result I always had such a passion for children because they are so innocent and vulnerable. Their lives are entrusted to adults who too often fail them in such horrific ways.

One of those people who crossed my path was Ron D'Haene. I was the nurse working on the pipeline the day he suffered a life changing injury. Ron's journey after his injury was very inspiring to me, and I truly believed the path God was leading him on was one that I was also to follow in order to help him achieve his purpose. So in a way, his purpose was a part of my purpose. The idea that I was meant to operate a business was true, the only difference was (and it was a huge difference) that it was for Him our Heavenly Father and not for me. That is how I-AM-that-I-Am-Art came to be.

So we both hope that through this mission we are on, to quote Oprah Winfrey "God is dreaming a bigger dream for us than we are dreaming for ourselves."

Forever His Faithful Servant
